This classic Aperol Spritz cocktail recipe combines three simple ingredients to create a refreshing and vibrant Italian aperitivo drink. Perfect for warm weather or any casual gathering, the Aperol Spritz balances the bittersweet flavor of Aperol with sparkling Prosecco and sparkling water, garnished elegantly with a fresh orange slice.

Ingredients

For the Aperol Spritz

  • 3 ounces Aperol
  • 3 ounces Prosecco
  • 1 to 2 ounces sparkling water
  • 1 orange slice, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill the Glass: Fill a large wine glass with plenty of ice to keep your cocktail perfectly chilled.
  2. Add Aperol and Prosecco: Pour 3 ounces of Aperol followed by 3 ounces of chilled Prosecco into the glass. Stir gently to blend the flavors without losing the fizz.
  3. Top with Sparkling Water: Add 1 to 2 ounces of sparkling water to lighten the cocktail and add a refreshing sparkle.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Place a fresh orange slice on the rim or drop it into the glass as a garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy your classic Italian Aperol Spritz.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sparkling water to taste for a lighter or stronger spritz.
  • Use a large wine glass to allow space for ice and proper blending of ingredients.
  • Chilling your Prosecco before use enhances the refreshment factor.
  • This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh to retain its effervescence.
