Classic Deviled Eggs are a simple and delicious appetizer featuring hard-boiled eggs filled with a creamy, tangy yolk mixture seasoned with mustard, paprika, and a touch of dill. Perfect for parties, picnics, or easy snacking, these deviled eggs bring a burst of flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Eggs

  • 12 eggs, hard boiled and peeled

Filling

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Garnish

  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and transfer them into a mixing bowl, setting the whites aside.
  2. Make the yolk mixture: Use a fork to mash the yolks until smooth. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, salt, black pepper, and paprika to the bowl, mixing everything together until fully combined and creamy.
  3. Fill egg whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg white halves, evenly distributing the filling among all the eggs.
  4. Garnish and chill: Sprinkle each filled egg with dill for an appealing garnish. Cover the eggs and refrigerate until ready to serve, allowing flavors to meld and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For easier peeling, use eggs that are at least a week old.
  • Adjust mustard quantity to taste for more or less tanginess.
  • Try different garnishes like chives, paprika, or crispy bacon bits for variety.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
