This Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette is a simple yet flavorful dressing combining extra virgin olive oil, tangy balsamic vinegar, and a hint of sweetness from pure maple syrup. Enhanced with minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and aromatic herbs, it delivers a perfect balance of acidity and creaminess. Ideal for salads or as a marinade, this vinaigrette is quick to prepare and can be stored refrigerated for up to two weeks.

Ingredients

Vinaigrette Ingredients

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 large clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Herbs de Provence or Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp sea salt (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl or jar, add ½ cup extra virgin olive oil, ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar, 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup, 1 large clove garlic (peeled and minced), 2 tsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp Herbs de Provence or Italian seasoning, ½ tsp sea salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper.
  2. Mix or Shake Well: Whisk all the ingredients vigorously until the dressing is creamy and emulsified, or if using a jar with a lid, securely close it and shake well until fully combined.
  3. Use or Store: Use the vinaigrette immediately on salads or as a marinade for meats and vegetables. If not using right away, transfer to an airtight container such as a mason jar and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
  4. Re-shake Before Use: If the vinaigrette has chilled and the ingredients have separated, shake or stir well before serving to restore its creamy texture.

Notes

  • This vinaigrette can be customized by swapping Herbs de Provence with other dried herbs based on your preference.
  • Use high-quality extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor profile.
  • Maple syrup adds subtle sweetness and depth, but you may substitute honey if preferred.
  • To make the dressing vegan, ensure Dijon mustard and maple syrup are purely plant-based.
  • Store the vinaigrette in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
