This Creamy Coconut Milk Brazilian Lemonade (Limeade) is a deliciously refreshing tropical drink made with just a few simple ingredients. Combining tart and tangy limes with creamy coconut milk and naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup, this beverage offers a zesty, smooth, and invigorating taste perfect for hot summer days. Easy to prepare in under 5 minutes using either a blender or by hand squeezing, it’s a vibrant twist on traditional lemonade that’s both creamy and invigorating.

Ingredients

For the Drink

  • 1 ripe lime, thoroughly washed (option to use 2 for stronger lime flavor)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can (13.66 ounces) coconut milk
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lime: Wash the lime thoroughly to remove any dirt or wax. Cut off the ends of the lime, then slice it into wedges, keeping the peel intact to preserve the citrus oils and flavor.
  2. Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the lime wedges (including the peel), water, coconut milk, and maple syrup. Blend for about 30 seconds to mix everything well, taking care not to over-blend as this can release bitter flavors from the lime peel.
  3. Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag to remove pulp and excess solids, resulting in a smooth lemonade.
  4. Serve: Fill a glass with ice and pour the strained lemonade over it. Serve immediately for the best flavor and refreshment.
  5. Alternative Hand Squeezed Method: If you don’t have a blender, you can squeeze 1 cup of fresh lime juice by hand. Stir the juice with the water, coconut milk, and maple syrup. Add lime zest from one lime to intensify the flavor, stir well, pour over ice, and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a stronger lime flavor, consider using a second lime or adding additional lime zest.
  • This lemonade is best consumed immediately to enjoy its fresh, vibrant taste.
  • Be careful not to over-blend or the mixture may become bitter due to lime peel oils.
