Easter Oreo Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat combining crushed Golden Oreos, creamy softened cream cheese, and a smooth white chocolate coating. Perfect for spring celebrations, these colorful truffles are decorated with pastel food coloring and festive sprinkles, making them a fun and easy dessert that requires minimal effort and no oven time.

Ingredients

Base

  • 1 (350g) package Golden Oreos
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened

Coating and Decoration

  • 4 cups (680g) white chocolate chips or candy coating
  • Pastel-colored food coloring (optional, for tinting candy coating)
  • Easter-themed or pastel-colored sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pulse Oreos: In the bowl of a large food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until they form fine crumbs.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and blend until smooth with no lumps remaining. Remove the bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for 30 minutes until firm.
  3. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  4. Form truffle balls: Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion the truffle mixture into 1.5-tablespoon-sized scoops. Roll each portion into a ball with your hands and place on the prepared baking sheet. Cover and freeze for 15 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt coating: While truffles are freezing, melt the white chocolate chips or candy coating according to package instructions.
  6. Color coating: Optionally, divide the melted coating into 4 bowls and tint with pastel-colored food coloring, mixing thoroughly until smooth with no streaks.
  7. Dip truffles: Quickly lower chilled truffle balls one at a time into the melted coating, lift out using a fork allowing excess coating to drip back into the bowl.
  8. Set coated truffles: Gently place the coated truffle balls onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Decorate: Drizzle additional colors of melted coating over each truffle and top with sprinkles if desired. Allow to set and harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier blending and smoother texture.
  • If food coloring is unavailable, simply use white coating without color for a classic look.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep fresh.
  • Feel free to experiment with different colored coatings and sprinkles to match other holiday themes.
