These Easy Air Fryer Salmon Bites with Teriyaki Glaze are a quick, flavorful, and healthy appetizer or snack. Tender salmon cubes are marinated in a savory teriyaki-honey mixture, then air fried to perfection for a crispy outside and juicy inside. Garnished with sesame seeds, crushed red pepper, and green onions, they make a deliciously simple dish ideal for meal prepping or entertaining.

Ingredients

Salmon Bites

  • 1 pound salmon filet, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Teriyaki Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Crushed red pepper for garnish
  • Green onions, diced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Remove the skin from the salmon filet using a sharp blade and discard it. Chop the salmon into 1-inch cubes, ensuring pieces are uniform for even cooking. Set the cubes aside.
  2. Make the teriyaki marinade: In a bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, olive oil, honey, soy sauce, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well to create a smooth glaze.
  3. Coat the salmon bites: Toss the salmon cubes in the teriyaki mixture until they are evenly coated. To double the servings of sauce, keep extra for serving as a dressing or dip.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat to achieve optimal cooking temperature and texture.
  5. Cook the salmon bites: Arrange the coated salmon cubes inside the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and slightly caramelized on the edges. Turning the pieces over midway is optional.
  6. Serve and garnish: Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a serving plate. Sprinkle sesame seeds, crushed red pepper flakes, and diced green onions on top. Serve with soy sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • This recipe is perfect for meal prepping; cooked salmon bites can be stored covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, increase the amount of crushed red pepper garnish.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari sauce instead of soy sauce and ensure the teriyaki sauce is gluten-free.
