This easy tiramisu recipe offers a creamy, coffee-infused dessert that requires no eggs or alcohol, making it a simple, no-bake treat. With layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a luscious spiced mascarpone cream, it’s perfect as a make-ahead dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

For the Cream Mixture

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone, room temperature
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Assembly

  • 2 cups very strong coffee
  • 1 (7 ounce) package ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, about 6-7 minutes. This creates a light base for the mascarpone mixture.
  2. Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture: In a medium bowl, mix the mascarpone, maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until fully combined. Gently fold in the whipped cream until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  3. Dip the Ladyfingers: Pour the very strong coffee into a shallow bowl or pie plate. Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the coffee, being careful not to soak them too long to avoid sogginess. Arrange a single layer of half the dipped ladyfingers in a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the Filling: Spread half of the whipped mascarpone cream over the coffee-soaked ladyfingers in an even layer.
  5. Repeat Layers: Repeat the dipping and layering process with the remaining ladyfingers and coffee, then spread the rest of the cream mixture on top. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap.
  6. Chill the Tiramisu: Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  7. Serve: Before serving, dust the top evenly with cocoa powder and the remaining ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon for a finishing touch.

Notes

  • Do not soak the ladyfingers too long; they absorb coffee quickly and can become mushy.
  • For a caffeine-free version, substitute the strong coffee with decaffeinated coffee or espresso.
  • This tiramisu contains no eggs or alcohol, making it suitable for those avoiding these ingredients.
  • Make-ahead dessert: best if chilled overnight for optimal texture and flavor.
  • If mascarpone is unavailable, cream cheese can be used as a substitute though flavor and texture will vary.
