Empty Tomb Rolls are a fun and delicious treat featuring gooey marshmallows wrapped in buttery cinnamon-sugar crescent rolls baked to golden perfection. Perfect for a sweet snack or festive dessert, these rolls are simple to prepare and delightfully melty inside.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 12 ounce package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease 8 cups in a muffin tin to prevent sticking during baking.
  2. Prepare Crescent Rolls: Open the package of refrigerated crescent rolls and separate them into individual triangles. Set aside for assembly.
  3. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined to create the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  4. Butter Marshmallow: Dip each large marshmallow into the melted butter, coating it thoroughly to help the cinnamon sugar adhere.
  5. Coat Marshmallow: Roll the butter-coated marshmallow in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly covered.
  6. Wrap Marshmallow: Place the coated marshmallow onto one crescent roll triangle. Pull the dough around the marshmallow and pinch the edges tightly to seal it completely inside.
  7. Coat Wrapped Roll: Dip the top of the crescent roll in melted butter, then dip it into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat the outside.
  8. Place in Muffin Tin: Set the cinnamon sugar-coated crescent roll into the prepared muffin tin cup, cinnamon sugar side up.
  9. Repeat Steps: Repeat the buttering, coating, wrapping, and placing process with the remaining marshmallows and crescent roll triangles.
  10. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the rolls are lightly golden brown and puffed.
  11. Serve Warm: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the rolls warm for the best gooey marshmallow experience.

Notes

  • Ensure the crescent rolls are sealed tightly around the marshmallow to prevent leaks during baking.
  • For a variation, try using flavored marshmallows or adding a small piece of chocolate inside along with the marshmallow.
  • Serve immediately for gooey centers; reheating may diminish the melty texture.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a day.
