This Graham Cracker Crust recipe provides a simple and delicious base for cheesecakes and pies using just three ingredients. With a buttery, sweet, and slightly crunchy texture, this crust bakes to a golden finish in under 20 minutes, elevating your homemade desserts effortlessly.

Ingredients

Crust Ingredients

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs (180g)
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (87g to 113g), melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the crust.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 6 tablespoons of melted butter, and sugar. Stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened, checking by pinching the crumb mixture between your fingers to ensure it sticks together; add more butter one tablespoon at a time if the mixture feels too dry and sandy.
  3. Press Into Pan: Firmly press the crumb mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Use the flat bottom of a measuring cup or glass to compact the crust evenly and your fingers to press the sides firmly.
  4. Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until it becomes aromatic and golden brown.
  5. Cool: Remove the crust from the oven and set it aside to cool completely before filling.

Notes

  • Use a small silicone spatula or the back of a spoon to press in the sides of the crust and smooth the crease where the bottom meets the sides.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, add a few extra minutes of baking time while monitoring closely to avoid burning.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding a pinch of fine sea salt or kosher salt to the crumb mixture.
  • You can add ½ to 1 teaspoon of ground baking spices like cinnamon or ginger for extra flavor.
  • If making your own graham cracker crumbs, any graham cracker flavor works — original, honey, cinnamon, or chocolate to create varied flavored crusts.
