Enjoy perfectly tender and flavorful corn on the cob with this simple oven-roasted recipe. Roasting the corn in its husks locks in moisture and enhances its natural sweetness, while a seasoned butter adds a delicious finishing touch. Ideal as a side dish for any meal, this method requires minimal prep and yields four servings.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 ears of corn (husks on)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon everyday seasoning (or your favorite seasoning blend)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the right temperature for roasting the corn evenly.
  2. Prepare Corn: Trim any excess husks and silk dangling from the ends of the corn cobs, discarding these parts to clean up the ears for roasting.
  3. Roast Corn: Place the corn cobs with husks still on directly onto the oven rack. Roast them for about 30 minutes, or until the corn becomes bright yellow, tender, and plump. After roasting, remove the cobs and let them cool for 5 minutes to make handling easier.
  4. Make Seasoned Butter: While the corn roasts, combine the unsalted butter and your chosen seasoning blend in a small bowl. Stir thoroughly until combined, then set aside.
  5. Shuck Corn: After the corn has cooled slightly, pull back the husks and remove all remaining silk strands. Discard the husks and silk.
  6. Serve: Generously coat the corn cobs with the prepared seasoned butter. Serve immediately to enjoy the rich, buttery flavor paired with the perfectly roasted corn.

Notes

  • Keeping the husks on during roasting helps retain moisture, keeping the corn juicy.
  • You can customize the seasoning by using taco seasoning, Cajun spices, or even garlic herb blends for varied flavors.
  • If you prefer, corn can also be wrapped in foil instead of placing directly on the rack, but roasting in husks directly gives a smokier flavor.
  • Allow the corn to cool slightly before handling to avoid burns.
  • This method works well for summer barbecues or as a comforting side in cooler months.
