These protein brownies are a rich, fudgy, and gooey treat made with just four simple ingredients—mashed banana, almond butter, cocoa powder, and protein powder. Free from flour, eggs, and butter, they offer a guilt-free dessert option that’s quick to prepare and bake. Perfect for a nutritious snack or an indulgent but healthy dessert.

Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • 1/2 cup almond butter (can substitute peanut butter, cashew butter, or another nut butter)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup protein powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and set it aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a high-speed blender or mixing bowl, add the mashed banana, almond butter, cocoa powder, and protein powder. Blend or mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, consistent batter.
  3. Transfer and bake: Pour the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops feel firm to the touch.
  4. Create crackly tops: Remove the brownies from the oven and gently press down on the tops with a spatula or your hand to form the signature crackly surface.
  5. Cool and serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 servings and serving.

Notes

  • To store: Keep leftover brownies covered and refrigerated. They will last up to five days but will spoil if left at room temperature.
  • To freeze: Place brownies in an airtight container and freeze for up to six months for longer storage.
