These flavorful turkey meatballs are a healthy and easy-to-make dish perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep. Made with lean ground turkey, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning, they can be baked, air fried, or pan-fried to juicy, tender perfection.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat and mix dry ingredients: Preheat the oven to 400ºF. In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, stirring until well mixed.
  2. Combine with turkey and egg: In a large separate bowl, add the ground turkey, then the egg and breadcrumb mixture. Use your hands to gently mix everything until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the meatballs tender.
  3. Shape the meatballs: Divide the mixture into 16 equal portions, about two tablespoons each. To ensure even sizing, divide into quarters first, then each quarter into four parts. Shape each portion into a meatball.
  4. Baking method: Place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until cooked through. For more browning, bake 15 minutes then sauté in a hot skillet with butter for about 5 minutes until browned.
  5. Air fryer method: Preheat the air fryer to 400ºF. Arrange meatballs in the basket without overcrowding and air fry for about 8 minutes, shaking halfway through to ensure even browning and cooking.
  6. Stovetop method: Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches of about 8, browning all sides and cooking through, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Notes

  • To keep meatballs moist, avoid overmixing the mixture.
  • If you prefer extra crispy meatballs, try finishing them in a skillet after baking.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup when baking.
  • Cooked meatballs can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Check internal temperature of meatballs to be at least 165ºF for safe consumption.
