Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: Gently melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently to ensure it melts evenly without burning. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly before incorporating to avoid a grainy texture in the mousse.
  2. Blend Base Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocado, coconut milk, sea salt, and maple syrup. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Melted Chocolate: Slowly pour in the cooled melted chocolate whilst continuing to blend until fully combined. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup if desired.
  4. Adjust Consistency: If the mousse is too thick, add a little more coconut milk to loosen the mixture. Remember, the mousse will thicken further when chilled.
  5. Serve and Chill: Spoon the mousse evenly into serving cups. Garnish with fresh berries and chocolate shavings if desired. You may serve immediately for a soft texture or refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours to achieve a firmer mousse. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
