Big Mac Egg Rolls transform the classic flavors of a Big Mac into a crispy, handheld appetizer. Ground beef seasoned with garlic powder, diced pickles, onions, and melted American cheese are wrapped in egg roll wrappers and cooked until golden brown. Served with a tangy special sauce that mimics Big Mac dressing, these egg rolls can be air fried, pan-fried, or baked for a deliciously satisfying snack or meal.

Ingredients

Egg Rolls

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pickles, diced
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Special Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1½ tablespoons relish
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a medium-sized frying pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease. Season the beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then stir to combine.
  2. Assemble the Egg Rolls: Lay one egg roll wrapper flat and place one slice of American cheese in the center. Spoon 2-3 spoonfuls of the cooked ground beef on top of the cheese, followed by some diced pickles and diced onion.
  3. Roll the Egg Rolls: Wet the edges of the wrapper with water to help seal. Fold in two opposite corners towards the center, then tightly roll the egg roll away from you to enclose the filling. Repeat with all wrappers and filling.
  4. Choose Cooking Method – Air Fryer: Brush both sides of each egg roll with oil. Place them in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 5-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown. Brush more oil as needed. Once done, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  5. Choose Cooking Method – Stove Top: Heat oil in a deep pot over medium heat. Fry egg rolls in small batches for about 5 minutes or until golden brown on all sides. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Choose Cooking Method – Oven: Brush egg rolls with oil on both sides and place directly on a foil-lined sheet pan or a sheet pan with a rack. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway and brushing with oil as needed, until golden and crispy. Finish by sprinkling sesame seeds.
  7. Make the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until smooth and homogeneous.
  8. Serve: Plate the cooked egg rolls with the special sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your Big Mac Egg Rolls warm!

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh egg roll wrappers and keep them covered with a damp towel to prevent drying out while assembling.
  • Adjust the seasoning of the beef to your preference, adding more garlic powder or pepper if desired.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, oven baking or deep frying are excellent alternatives.
  • Store leftover cooked egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat until crisp.
  • Wear oven mitts when handling the hot egg rolls to avoid burns, especially when frying.
  • Use a rack when baking to allow air circulation for crispier egg rolls.
