A vibrant and soothing Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Latte made with plant-based milk and infused with floral notes of rose and vanilla. This beautifully colorful latte is naturally caffeine-free and lightly sweetened, perfect for a calming and visually stunning drink.

Ingredients

Flower Base

  • ½ teaspoon blue butterfly pea flower powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot water

Milk Base

  • 8 oz cashew milk (or almond milk or oat milk as alternatives)

Sweeteners & Flavorings

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or rose simple syrup or lavender simple syrup; start with 1 teaspoon)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons rose water (optional)

Garnish

  • 1 teaspoon organic dried rose petals or dried organic rose buds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Butterfly Pea Flower Base: Place ½ teaspoon of blue butterfly pea flower powder into a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of hot water and whisk until the powder dissolves completely. Set this vibrant blue mixture aside.
  2. Heat the Plant-Based Milk: Pour 8 oz of cashew milk into a saucepan and heat it over medium heat. Warm the milk until it just starts to steam but does not boil.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Whisk the prepared butterfly pea flower mixture into the warmed cashew milk. Add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract to sweeten and flavor the latte. Stir in 2 teaspoons of rose water if you are using it, to enhance the floral aroma.
  4. Froth and Serve: Remove the saucepan from heat. If desired, use a milk frother to aerate the latte for about 30 seconds to create a creamy texture. Pour the latte into your favorite cup.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with 1 teaspoon of organic dried rose petals or rose buds if available. Serve immediately and enjoy the relaxing, beautifully hued latte.

Notes

  • Use any plant-based milk according to your preference such as almond or oat milk.
  • Adjust sweetness by starting with less syrup and adding more if desired.
  • Rose water and dried rose petals are optional for a more aromatic and decorative presentation.
  • To avoid bitterness, heat the milk gently and do not boil.
  • This latte is naturally caffeine-free and vibrant blue from butterfly pea flower powder, which changes color with pH changes (can add lemon for purple hue).
