A vibrant and visually stunning Caprese Wreath combining fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and olives arranged in a beautiful circular platter that’s perfect for gatherings and appetizers.

Ingredients

Cheese

  • 3 large balls of fresh mozzarella, sliced into circles
  • 5 baby bocconcini balls, halved (optional)

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 4 large tomatoes, sliced into circles
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved or whole
  • 2 cups basil leaves, loosely packed
  • ⅓ cup sliced Kalamata or green olives

Seasoning & Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice and halve ingredients: Begin by slicing the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes into circles and halving the cherry tomatoes and bocconcini balls to prepare them for layering.
  2. Arrange mozzarella and tomatoes: Alternately place the slices of mozzarella and tomato in a circular pattern on a large platter to create the wreath base.
  3. Fill the inner circle: Place the halved bocconcini and cherry tomatoes within the inner circle of the wreath to add more texture and color contrast.
  4. Add basil and olives: Scatter the fresh basil leaves and sliced olives evenly over the top of the wreath to infuse fresh herbaceous flavor and a pop of savory saltiness.
  5. Drizzle and season: Finish by drizzling the olive oil over the entire wreath and season with salt and freshly cracked pepper just before serving to enhance all the fresh flavors.

Notes

  • For an extra burst of flavor, consider adding a balsamic glaze drizzle before serving.
  • This recipe can be customized with colored heirloom tomatoes for added visual appeal.
  • Serve immediately for best freshness, or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.
  • Optional bocconcini can be omitted for a simpler presentation or to make it vegetarian-friendly if desired.
