Deliciously soft and sweet Cinnamon Roll Ups made with refrigerated crescent dough, brushed with cinnamon sugar, baked to golden perfection, and topped with a creamy vanilla glaze. Perfect for a quick and easy breakfast or dessert treat.

Ingredients

Dough and Filling

  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent dough
  • 8 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Milk, as needed for consistency
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or almond extract)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204 degrees Celsius) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat for easy removal and cleanup.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and gently separate the triangles along perforations, taking care not to tear the dough.
  3. Brush with Butter: Using a pastry brush, evenly coat each crescent triangle with the melted butter to provide richness and help the cinnamon sugar stick.
  4. Add Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the buttered crescent triangles to infuse each roll up with sweet, spicy flavor.
  5. Roll Up Crescents: Starting from the wide end of each triangle, carefully roll the dough toward the narrow point, forming a spiral. Place the roll ups on the prepared baking sheet spaced 2-3 inches apart to allow for expansion during baking.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cinnamon roll ups are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Make Glaze: While the roll ups are baking, prepare the glaze by creaming together softened cream cheese and melted butter until smooth and combined.
  8. Add Sweeteners: Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract (or almond extract) to the cream cheese mixture. Add milk gradually, stirring until the glaze reaches a pourable yet thick consistency.
  9. Drizzle and Serve: Once the roll ups are baked and slightly cooled, generously drizzle the cream cheese glaze on top. Serve warm for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing in the glaze.
  • Adjust the amount of milk in the glaze to achieve your desired thickness.
  • For a nutty twist, sprinkle chopped nuts inside before rolling up the dough.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently before serving.
  • You can substitute almond extract for vanilla extract for a different flavor profile.
