Instructions

  1. Prepare the Avocado: Remove the seed and skin from ripe avocados carefully. Mash or slice the avocado as required by the variation you want to make.
  2. Toast the Bread: Toast the bread slice until golden and crisp to provide a sturdy base for toppings.
  3. Make an Avocado Rose: Thinly slice the avocado between 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Gradually separate slices and shape them into a spiral by arranging them overlapping lightly to form a rose shape. Adjust spacing for size preferences; tight for small, slightly separated for medium, and adding a second half for a large rose.
  4. Assemble Variations: For cheddar cheese, mash avocado on toast, sprinkle black pepper, then top with shredded cheese. For blueberry, place an avocado rose on toast and garnish with fresh blueberries. For poached egg, spread mashed avocado, add a poached egg, and season with salt and pepper. For strawberries, place avocado rose on toast, tuck in thin strawberry slices between avocado layers, rolling one slice for the center. For smoked salmon, spread cream cheese on toast, add smoked salmon slices, and top with a large avocado rose. For tomato balsamic, layer thin avocado and tomato slices alternately on the toast, drizzle balsamic vinegar, and garnish with basil if desired. For fried egg, spread avocado slices, top with a fried egg, and season. For strawberry jam, spread jam on toast, scatter sliced strawberries, and top with a large avocado rose. For hard-boiled egg, spread avocado slices, top with egg slices, and season.
  5. Serve Immediately: Enjoy the avocado toast fresh to appreciate the creamy texture of avocado and the complementary toppings at their best.

Notes

  • To remove the avocado seed easily: Cut the avocado in half lengthwise, twist halves to separate, and gently tap the seed with a knife blade to remove it.
  • Choose firm ripe avocados for slicing and softer ones for mashing.
  • Adjust seasoning such as salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar according to taste.
  • Use fresh and quality bread for best flavor and texture.
  • The avocado rose technique requires a gentle hand to avoid mashing the slices.
  • Variations can be combined or customized further with herbs like basil or additional toppings.
