Crispy and flavorful air fryer chicken wings seasoned with garlic salt, lemon pepper, and optional baking powder for extra crispiness. Perfectly cooked in just 16 minutes, these wings have a golden brown outer skin and tender meat inside, ideal for a quick snack or party appetizer.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 1 lb chicken wings, split into flats and drummettes

Seasoning and Coating

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Wings: Thoroughly pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels to remove moisture, which helps achieve a crispy texture.
  2. Season Wings: Place the wings in a mixing bowl and coat them evenly with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. In a separate small bowl, combine garlic salt, lemon pepper, and baking powder (if using). Sprinkle this seasoning mix over the wings, tossing to coat all sides evenly.
  3. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, spacing them evenly to allow hot air circulation for even cooking.
  4. Air Fry the Wings: Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the wings for 8 minutes. After 8 minutes, flip each wing to the other side carefully and continue air frying for an additional 8 minutes. The total cook time is 16 minutes, or until the wings are crisp and golden brown on the outside.

Notes

  • If you prefer saltier wings, increase the garlic salt to 1 1/2 teaspoons or substitute 1 teaspoon garlic salt with 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
  • For extra crispy skin, include 1 teaspoon of baking powder in the seasoning mix to help dry out the skin during cooking.
  • If doubling the recipe, arrange wings standing upright around the basket edges to maximize space. Use a larger toaster oven-style air fryer if possible. Increase cooking time to 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat and re-crisp in the air fryer at 400°F for 4-5 minutes before serving.
