A refreshing and vibrant cocktail combining freshly muddled watermelon, homemade lemonade, and a blend of tropical spirits. This delightful drink is perfect for warm days, served chilled with a splash of soda for an extra fizz.

Ingredients

For the Cocktail

  • 1 small watermelon
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz Malibu rum
  • 2 oz watermelon juice
  • 2 oz lemonade
  • Soda, to top up

For the Lemonade

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6-8 lemons)
  • 3 – 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Lemonade: Squeeze fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of juice and pour into a pitcher. Add 3 to 4 cups of water, the honey, and lemon slices. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved. Set aside your fresh lemonade.
  2. Muddle the Watermelon: Slice the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh. Using an Arctic Chill Muddler, muddle the watermelon flesh thoroughly in a bowl until juicy. Strain the juice through a sieve into a separate container.
  3. Prepare the Cocktail: Fill a martini shaker with ice. Add 2 oz of the freshly extracted watermelon juice, 1 oz vodka, 1/2 oz triple sec, 1/2 oz Malibu rum, and 2 oz of the prepared lemonade into the shaker. Shake vigorously until well chilled and mixed.
  4. Serve the Drink: Pour the cocktail mixture into a glass filled with ice. Top with soda to add a sparkling fizz. Garnish with a lemon slice if desired and serve immediately to enjoy the refreshing flavors.

Notes

  • Use fresh ripe watermelon for the best sweetness and juiciness.
  • If you prefer a less sweet drink, adjust the honey or lemonade accordingly.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the vodka, triple sec, and Malibu, and increase the lemonade and soda.
  • Ensure the martini shaker is well chilled before shaking to keep the cocktail cold and refreshing.
