Ingredients

Meat and Pasta

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 cups Wide egg noodles

Liquids and Broth

  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 3 Beef bouillon cubes

Seasonings and Thickener

  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare seasoning mix: In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Brown the beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking into crumbles, then drain excess fat using the paper towel method for best results.
  3. Dissolve bouillon: Boil water in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the beef bouillon cubes until fully dissolved, forming a rich broth.
  4. Add broth to skillet: Pour the bouillon mixture into the browned beef in the skillet and stir to combine evenly.
  5. Incorporate milk and seasonings: Add the milk to the skillet and stir. Then add the prepared seasoning mix and stir thoroughly to blend all flavors.
  6. Add noodles and cook: Stir in the wide egg noodles and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  7. Simmer until tender: Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the noodles are fully cooked and tender.
  8. Thicken and serve: Remove from heat and let the dish stand for several minutes so the sauce can thicken. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use a large skillet or a Dutch oven for best cooking results.
  • Drain excess grease by pressing cooked meat to one side and blotting with a clean paper towel; no strainer needed.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick before noodles are done, add an extra 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water to maintain moisture.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley to add color and freshness to the dish.
