A comforting and easy leftover spaghetti bake recipe that transforms your favorite spaghetti with sauce into a cheesy, baked casserole. Perfect for repurposing leftover pasta with a flavorful Italian seasoning, eggs, and a mix of Parmesan and cheddar cheeses for a rich, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • Leftover spaghetti with your favorite sauce – enough to fill a 9×13 inch baking dish
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix spaghetti ingredients: In a large bowl, combine your prepared spaghetti with sauce, 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, beaten eggs, melted butter, and ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese. Ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  3. Assemble casserole and bake covered: Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly into the greased baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil to retain moisture and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Add cheddar cheese and finish baking: Carefully remove the foil and sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Return the dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and slightly browned.

Notes

  • Cheddar cheese is preferred for this recipe, but you can substitute with mozzarella, or a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan, or any cheese of your choice.
  • If your spaghetti is dry or lacks sauce, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to moisten it before mixing. Adjust as needed.
  • Feel free to customize this bake by stirring in cooked vegetables or different sauces to suit your taste.
  • Covering the dish during baking helps retain moisture; uncovering at the end browns the cheese for an appealing presentation.
  • Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley for added color and flavor.
