This Leftover Spaghetti Bake is a delicious and easy way to transform leftover spaghetti into a cheesy, baked casserole perfect for family dinners. Combining eggs, milk, Parmesan, and sharp cheddar cheese, this bake is moist, flavorful, and reheated to perfection with a golden cheese topping.

Ingredients

Spaghetti Mixture

  • 8 cups leftover spaghetti with sauce
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cheese Topping

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese OR mozzarella cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the casserole.
  2. Prepare baking dish: Spray a 9×13 inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Mix eggs and milk: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs and ¼ cup milk until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese: Stir in ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese into the egg mixture, blending well.
  5. Combine with spaghetti: Add the 8 cups of leftover spaghetti with sauce to the bowl, tossing thoroughly so the pasta is evenly coated with the egg and cheese mixture.
  6. Mix in cheddar cheese: Add 1 cup of the shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or mozzarella if preferred) and toss again until mixed thoroughly throughout the spaghetti.
  7. Transfer to baking dish: Pour the coated spaghetti mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake covered: Cover the casserole dish and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the casserole is cooked through and set.
  9. Add remaining cheese: Remove the cover and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  10. Melt cheese topping: Return the uncovered casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.

Notes

  • The leftover spaghetti should already be cooked and sauced to provide flavor and moisture.
  • Any type of leftover spaghetti sauce works well, from marinara to meat sauce.
  • Substitute mozzarella cheese for cheddar if a milder flavor is preferred.
  • Covering the casserole while baking helps keep it moist and prevents the top from drying out.
  • Ensure the eggs are well incorporated to bind the pasta during baking.
