Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 ⅔ Cups Rolled Oats
  • ½ Cup Peanut Butter
  • ⅓ Cup Applesauce
  • 3 Tablespoons Agave
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch Salt

Add-ins

  • ¼ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips or finely chopped chocolate

Instructions

  1. Process Oats: Place the rolled oats into the bowl of a food processor and process until they have the texture of a coarse meal.
  2. Make Dough: Add the peanut butter, applesauce, agave, vanilla extract, and salt into the food processor. Pulse until a dough forms and ingredients are well combined.
  3. Add Chocolate Chips: Add the mini chocolate chips and pulse a few times to evenly distribute them into the dough without over-processing.
  4. Form Balls: Using a 1.5 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop the mixture onto a parchment-lined plate. Roll each portion between the palms of your hands to form bite-sized dough balls. You should get about 15-17 pieces.
  5. Chill and Store: Place the dough bites in the refrigerator to chill. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Peanut butter can be substituted with any nut or seed butter of your choice for variation or allergies.
  • For a vegan option, ensure the peanut butter and chocolate chips are vegan-friendly.
  • If you prefer a sweeter bite, you can add a little more agave or honey.
  • These dough bites are best stored refrigerated but can be frozen for longer storage.
  • Feel free to swap mini chocolate chips with chopped nuts, dried fruits, or seeds for different flavors and textures.
