A decadent snack combining the rich flavors of white truffle butter, crispy prosciutto, and sharp Parmesan cheese tossed with freshly popped popcorn. This Parmesan Truffle Popcorn recipe is a perfect gourmet treat that’s quick to prepare and sure to impress at any gathering.

Ingredients

Popcorn and Seasoning

  • ⅓ cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ⅓ cup white truffle butter (such as D’Artagnon)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated (such as Parmigiano Reggiano)

Prosciutto

  • 6 thin slices prosciutto (such as Parma)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Crisp Prosciutto: Preheat your oven to 350℉. Arrange the thin slices of prosciutto evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the prosciutto is crispy. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
  2. Heat Oil and Prepare to Pop: Place a large saucepan over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Add the popcorn kernels and toss them to coat evenly with the oil.
  3. Pop the Popcorn: Cover the saucepan and wait for the popcorn to start popping. Occasionally shake the pot gently and slightly lift the lid to release steam (“burp” the lid). Once popping slows down significantly, turn off the heat, shake the pot again to avoid burning, and let the popping subside completely.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the popped popcorn into a large bowl. Crumble the cooled crispy prosciutto over the popcorn evenly.
  5. Add Truffle Butter and Parmesan: Drizzle the melted white truffle butter over the popcorn and prosciutto mixture. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top, then toss everything gently but thoroughly to ensure all kernels are coated with butter, prosciutto, and cheese.
  6. Serve Immediately: Serve the Parmesan Truffle Popcorn fresh while warm to enjoy the full flavor and crispy texture.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced prosciutto for the best crispiness and flavor.
  • Be careful when popping popcorn on the stovetop to avoid burning; shaking the pot is key.
  • For a vegan alternative, use vegan butter and skip the prosciutto and Parmesan or use plant-based substitutes.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container, but popcorn is best enjoyed fresh.
  • Truffle butter adds a luxurious aroma and flavor—use it sparingly if you prefer a subtler taste.
