Sparkling Limeade, or Limonada con Agua Mineral, is a refreshing and zesty beverage made with fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and chilled mineral water. Perfect for a hot day, this sparkling limeade combines the tartness of limes with the effervescence of mineral water, creating a light and invigorating drink that’s easy to prepare in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

Fresh Ingredients

  • 4 large limes
  • Slices of lime for garnish

Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup superfine sugar
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Other

  • 1 liter mineral water (chilled)

Instructions

  1. Juice the limes: Squeeze the juice from 4 large limes into a small pitcher or carafe, ensuring you remove any seeds.
  2. Make simple syrup: Combine 1/2 cup superfine sugar with 1/2 cup hot water in a mason jar or bowl. Shake or stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Mix lime juice and syrup: Pour the prepared simple syrup into the pitcher containing lime juice. Stir to combine thoroughly.
  4. Add mineral water and garnish: When ready to serve, top the lime and syrup mixture with 1 liter of chilled mineral water. Add a few lime slices into the pitcher for garnish, stir well, and serve the sparkling limeade over ice.

Notes

  • Use superfine sugar to help it dissolve quickly in hot water.
  • The beverage is best served chilled and over ice for a refreshing taste.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup added.
  • Mineral water adds a crisp fizziness that complements the lime flavor perfectly.
  • For an adult version, a splash of white rum can be added.
