A quick and refreshing recipe for homemade mango juice, also known as mango nectar. Made from fresh mango flesh blended with water, this easy-to-make juice is perfect for a healthy drink anytime. The juice can be enjoyed as is or strained for a smoother texture, and leftovers can be stored in the fridge or frozen for future use.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh mango flesh (approximately 1 large or 2 small mangoes)
  • 1 cup water (filtered or tap; add more for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mango: Wash and slice the mango in half. Using the glass method, run each mango half along the side of a glass to scoop out the flesh. Use a spoon to scrape off any remaining fruit around the seed and peel.
  2. Blend the mango and water: Transfer the mango flesh and water to a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth. Adjust the amount of water to achieve your preferred flavor and consistency.
  3. Strain the juice (optional): For a smoother juice free of fibrous pulp, strain the blended mixture through a sieve. Use a spatula to help move the juice through the sieve more quickly.
  4. Serve: Pour the juice into serving glasses and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and freshness.
  5. Store: If you have leftovers, store the juice in an airtight bottle or jar in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days.
  6. Freeze (optional): Instead of freezing the juice, freeze the blended mango puree in ice cube trays and transfer frozen cubes to a reusable Ziplock bag for up to 3 months. Thaw and blend with water when ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet mangoes for best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Adjust water amount to control thickness and taste.
  • Straining is optional based on texture preference.
  • Consume fresh mango juice promptly to enjoy peak flavor and nutrition.
  • Freezing mango puree is ideal for future smoothies, juices, or desserts.
